On our first Thursday in Beijing we went on an excursion to Tiananmen Square. It started snowing while we were there, and it was a surreal and very special experience. The snow was beautiful, and it was an amazing first encounter with one of China's most famous places.

The snow was so beautiful! It really was a mesmerising night; one I will remember for a long time.
