Goodbye BNU

 Ni hao!

After our trip to the florist, I decided to pay a visit to the Beijing Normal University gift shop.

I had been looking for a BNU hoody after seeing one of the lads wearing one, but I couldn't find the one I wanted in the shop. However, I bought a beautiful BNU keyring and a BNU mug to drink Horlicks out of (I love Horlicks).

Afterwards I took some last photos of the gorgeous BNU campus where I had spent three happy and action-packed weeks.

No bugles please

Beautiful Beijing

 Hello!

After we had left the Forbidden City, Marvi, Sarah, April and I went for a walk through Beijing to find the subway station where we could catch a train to the Silk Market, our next destination. Wandering around the streets of Beijing, rather than the tourist spots, is a really nice experience, and I saw some interesting things.

Some colourful flags

We went to the Silk Market and I bought a few things such as a pretty fridge magnet with a dragon on it, and a blue silk dress. We then shared a pizza, which was really nice.

Then we caught a taxi back to Beijing Normal University, and on the way we had some beautiful views of skyscrapers and the CCTV building drenched in the Beijing sunset.

It was a really enjoyable ride home, and the end of a really lovely day out, in which I made three wonderful friends - Sarah, April and Marvi. If you're reading this, you guys are amazing.

Exploring Beijing

 Hi!

Here are some photos from the first Monday of Study China when a group of us decided to explore the area around Beijing Normal University. We discovered some incredible things and saw some amazing sights.

These are really popular snacks; they consist of various types of caramelised fruit on skewers

World's cutest cake shop (Wedomé)

I bought one of these; it was delicious ♥

All the strawberries have smiley faces!

Exotic Chinese Oreos (they have so many different flavours in the supermarkets here)

Thanks for reading! In the next blog post I will be sharing some photos of Beijing Normal University's beautiful campus.

 Until then,
